The Cancer Therapy Research Center (CTRC), located in San Antonio, TX, became a center of the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio.  The UT System Board of Regents authorized the acquisition, which took effect on December 17, 2007.

The UT Health Science Center's federal funding increased 17% during the university's fiscal year 2007, compared to fiscal year 2006.  This increase includes a 9% hike in NIH funding, as well as a 13% increase from other federal funding sources.

The Brown Foundation, Inc. of Houston donated $4 million to establish a state-of-the-art biomedical research facility for age-related diseases.

Mr. Bill Klesse, Chairman and CEO of the Valero Energy Corporation, announced a donation of $5 million to the UTHSCSA.
