CPS Gives $2.1 Million for New Facilities

The CPS Energy Board of Trustees awarded the Health Science Center $2.1 million from the CPS Community Infrastructure and Economic Development Fund to support the development of the UT Medicine Ambulatory Center and the South Texas Research Facility, currently under construction.
"These new facilities will strengthen San Antonio's reputation as a center for research through the new institute of Nanomedicine and for new biomedical business development through the proposed Texas Research and Technology Foundation incubator facility, both of which are to be housed in these new buildings," said Tom Long of CPS Energy Economic Development.

Kleberg Foundation Leaves Legacy Through Research and Scholars

The late Robert and Helen Kleberg provided a legacy of support for the health sciences that perfectly complements their 825,000-acre King Ranch. The Robert J. Kleberg, Jr. and Helen C. Kleberg Foundation has dedicated nearly $5 million to projects at the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio.
$25 Million donation includes $12.5 million for student scholarship endowments

Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long donate $25 Million to the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. The gift will establish permanent endowments toward student scholarships, faculty recruitment and retention, and research.

CTRC Officially Joins UT Health Science Center

The Cancer Therapy Research Center (CTRC), located in San Antonio, TX, became a center of the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. The UT System Board of Regents authorized the acquisition, which took effect on December 17, 2007.

The UT Health Science Center Receives 17% Boost in Federal Funding in 2007

The UT Health Science Center's federal funding increased 17% during the university's fiscal year 2007, compared to fiscal year 2006. This increase includes a 9% hike in NIH funding, as well as a 13% increase from other federal funding sources.
