Distinguished Teaching Professors
Six faculty members who are members of The University of Texas Academy of Health Science Education have been further honored by being named as Distinguished Teaching Professors by the UTHSCSA. The six faculty members are Drs. Dennis Blessing, Robert Esterl, Linda Johnson, Ellen Kraig, Richard Ludueña, and Shirlyn McKenzie. Drs. Linda Johnson, Ellen Kraig, and Richard Ludueña are faculty members in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, where Drs. Johnson and Kraig are professors in the Department of Cellular and Structural Biology and Dr. Ludueña is a professor in the Department of Biochemistry. Dr. Johnson is one of the 13 inaugural members of The University of Texas Academy of Health Science Education, a three-time winner of the Presidential Teaching Excellence Award and a Piper Professor. Dr. Kraig has received both the Presidential Teaching Excellence Award and the Dean’s Award for Exceptional Graduate Teaching. Dr. Ludueña is also a recipient of the Presidential Teaching Excellence Award, and he has written two textbooks for medical biochemistry students.
